Governor Signs Legislation for HB2467
Childhood Autism Insurance Coverage
Potomac Falls, VA – Delegate Thomas A. “Tag” Greason (R-Loudoun) is proud to announce that Governor Bob McDonnell has officially signed into law HB2467: Childhood Autism Insurance Coverage.
The legislation offers up to $35,000 annually of insurance coverage to families with children ages two to six years old who have been affected by Autism. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys is affected in some way by the disorder. Research has proven that early intervention is essential when treating Autism and this legislation will help hundreds of families get the care they need to make a real difference in their child’s lives.
Earlier today, Delegate Greason sent a message to all of those who have been involved in making this legislation a reality, stating:
“Congratulations to all of you who have worked so hard, for so long to make this a reality! You should be proud of your effort and the difference that each of you has made in the lives of so many Virginians.
It is an honor to be a small part of such a wonderful team. Well done!”
Greason adds, “This legislation would not have been possible without the leadership of the Speaker of the House, Del. Bill Howell, and so many others. It is good to be a part of something that is bi-partisan, solutions based, and so very long overdue.”
